It is a great honour to be here today for the Times Now Amazing Indians 2022 Awards ceremony - a shining example of a platform which goes out of the way to identify individuals who have contributed immensely towards improving our lives and building a better nation.
The outstanding quality of our human genius and innovative attitude and unparalleled perseverance is now well known all over the world.
The exceptional nature of human resources available amongst Indians is now widely recognised.
During the last few decades, Indians have amazed their global peers by playing an increasingly focal role in the success of reputed powerhouses such as Google, Microsoft, Twitter, IBM, MasterCard, Channel, Pepsico and Starbucks.
The quality of research and technical prowess of our institutions of national importance such as IITs and IIMs is now legendary in the developed world.
Since the ancient times, we have produced outstanding luminaries in the field of Mathematics, Science, Astronomy, Philosophy and linguistics for hundreds of years.
The improvements in our governance framework and other catalytic initiatives institutionalised in our country in recent years have created an enabling environment to nurture and develop the inherent latent talent in various remote corners of our country. The results are reflected on the grow.
Many of these are people who appear to be ordinary in their everyday demeanour, but are silently and purposefully working in unimaginable ways to radically change the lives of their fellow citizens for the better.
Such extraordinary human resource needs to be brought to the centre stage and their marvellous efforts placed before the nation.
It should be our collective endeavour as an ambitious nation to quickly identify and meaningfully leverage the potential of these exceptional individuals.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, himself having been part of Amazing Indians 2016 is testimony to how important this mission is for the nation.
It is heartening to note that the Times Now Network brought together an eminent panel of jurists chaired by Dr. Priti Adani, and supported by Ms. Upasana Kamineni, Mr. S. Nambi Narayan, Ms. Sonali Bendre and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who have devoted a lot of time and effort to pick out the most deserving candidates for this year’s Awards.
Given the immense talent, unimpeachable credentials and tall stature of the jury members, I am sure that they have spared no efforts in placing the best Indians in front of us this evening.
I look forward to felicitating the winners of Times Now Amazing Indians 2022 and hearing their inspiring stories.
Thank you.
Address by Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Honourable Vice President after felicitating the winners of the Times Now Amazing Indians 2022 Awards in New Delhi on September 9, 2022.
