The Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar reiterated the significance of the Doctrine of Separation of Powers today, emphasizing that our democracy flourishes when all three of its organs—the Legislature, the Judiciary, and the Executive—operate in harmony, tandem and togetherness. Calling upon these organs to show difference to each other & their respective domains, he emphasised that, "We need, not confrontation but collaboration."

VP made these remarks while addressing a gathering after receiving the first copy of the book titled - 'Roses without Thorns: Reflections of an Immaterial Wanderer' at Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas today. The book is a compilation of poems by the Attorney General of India, Shri R. Venkataramani. Praising the poetry collection as "a profound reflection & peep into human soul," VP observed that "Attorney General is eminently suited to ensure that the Doctrine of Separation of Powers evokes reference from these institutions. I'm sure, he'll spare time to pen his thoughts on this."
The Vice-President remarked, “the Attorney General holds a unique position under our Constitutional prescriptions”, noting that apart from the President, Parliamentarians and Ministers, he is the one to have the right to speak and take part in the proceedings of either House or Committees.
Acknowledging the country's ‘epochal achievements’ gaining recognition globally, across the executive, legislature, and judiciary spheres, the Vice-President attributed the success to the visionary Prime Minister, known for thinking big, acting decisively, and swift execution.

Describing Indian Bureaucracy as the ‘steel frame’, Shri Dhankhar noted that they are the most impactful mechanism on the global horizon to realise the aspirations of the people.
Emphasizing that democratic fabric is changing very fast with ‘disruptive technologies’ becoming an integral part of our daily lives, the Vice-President cautioned “if the heads of the institutions start sharing their thoughts from public platforms, situations can only worsen”.
VP further observed that in these challenging times, there is reluctance among people to listen to others' viewpoints. However, “to reject that without even sparing a moment is not good”, VP cautioned opining that “the other point of view, more often than not is the correct point of view."

In conclusion, the Vice-President expressed hope that “fragrance of these roses without thorns linger in our hearts and minds for times to come ''.
Shri R. Venkataramani, Attorney-General for India, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Jindal Global University, Shri Arif Mohammed Khan, Hon'ble Governor of Kerala and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
