    Hon’ble Governor of Punjab –– Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji; Minister of Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighter and Horticulture, Government of Punjab –– Shri Mohinder Bhagat Ji; Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha –– Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal Ji; Pro Chancellor, Lovely Professional University –– Dr. (Col.) Rashmi Mittal; Chairman, Lovely Group –– Sh. Ramesh Mittal;

    I touch and salute the holy feet of Bharat Mata The Most powerful and the most Merciful. Dear Students, I am delighted to be present here today at this beautiful campus of Lovely professional University. A convocation is a moment of fulfillment, reflection, and renewed responsibility, not only for the graduating students, but also for parents, teachers, and all those who have contributed to this important milestone in your lives. I extend my heartiest congratulations to all the graduating students. I also commend the faculty members, administrators, and parents whose guidance, perseverance, and sacrifices have played a vital role in shaping your academic journey.

    Dear Students, India today stands at a defining juncture in its journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047, as we approach the centenary of our Independence. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the nation has set before itself an ambitious yet achievable goal of building a developed, self-reliant, inclusive, and confident India. This vision goes beyond economic growth; it includes social harmony, ethical leadership, cultural confidence, technological self-reliance, and inclusive development. Its realisation will depend largely on the energy, competence, and character of our youth.
    The National Education Policy 2020 reflects this transformative national vision. It seeks to move education beyond rote learning, towards critical thinking, multi-disciplinary study, creativity, innovation, and value-based learning. The emphasis on flexibility, skill development, Indian knowledge systems, and lifelong learning is aimed at preparing young Indians not just for jobs, but for leadership and responsible citizenship. I urge you all to embrace the spirit of the National Education Policy and remain learners throughout your lives. I also urge you to internalise this spirit of seva-bhav  and kartavya-bodh  in your lives and work towards Viksit Bharat@2047.

    I would also like to place on record my appreciation for this institution for aligning education with national values and responsibilities. The promotion of swadeshi products on campus reflects a conscious commitment to self-reliance and respect for indigenous enterprise. Equally commendable is the Jai Jawan Scholarship, which honours the sacrifices of our armed forces personnel and their families by extending meaningful educational support. During Operation Sindoor, the University exhibited nationalistic feelings. These initiatives reaffirm that universities are not merely centres of learning, but institutions for building national character. Your alma mater takes pride in its alumni who have brought distinction to the nation and inspiration to society through their achievements.
    Eminent alumni such as Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, among many others across diverse fields, stand as shining examples of excellence, discipline, and perseverance. I am also informed that students and alumni from this institution are spread across continents and are contributing meaningfully in diverse fields. Many of you will also pursue higher education and professional opportunities abroad. While you may cross geographical boundaries, I hope you will carry with you the timeless values of Bharat –– integrity, respect for diversity, compassion, and a spirit of service. Wherever you go, let your conduct reflect India’s civilisational ethos and strengthen the nation’s image on the global stage.

    Dear Students, as we speak of potential and progress, we must also confront challenges that threaten the well-being of our youth. The growing menace of drug abuse on campuses is a matter of grave concern. Drugs destroy not only individual lives, but also families, institutions, and society at large. No nation can realise its demographic dividend if its youth fall prey to addiction and despair.

     I urge you to say a firm and unequivocal “No to Drugs.” Choose discipline, purpose, and healthy living. Dear graduating students, in an era marked by rapid technological change, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, adaptability and lifelong learning will be indispensable. Yet, technology must always remain guided by human values. Innovation anchored in ethics becomes a force for positive change; innovation without moral grounding can be disruptive. I urge you to combine scientific temper with moral clarity and professional excellence with social responsibility. As you step into the next phase of your lives, remember that true success lies not merely in personal achievement, but in the positive difference you make to others. My best wishes will always be with you. May you serve the nation and humanity with dedication and distinction. Once again, I congratulate all the graduating students and wish you courage, clarity, character and success in all your future endeavours.

    Jai Hind.
    Long Live Mother Bharat .
