CALL ON BY ‘MY BHARAT-NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME’

    Vice-President's Enclave |January 27, 2026

    Republic Day Parade Camp-2026 contingent

I touch and salute the holy feet of Bharat Mata- the most Powerful and the Most Merciful.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Ji, Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse Ji, Secretary, Youth Affairs, Smt Pallavi Jain Govil Ji, Shri Amit Khare Ji; and Dear Students.

I am happy to see you all, young students. Yesterday I saw watched your contingent proudly marching on the Kartavya. Path during the Republic Day Parade. I commend Dr.      Mansukh Mandaviya Ji for successfully carrying forward the MY Bharat-National Service Scheme. The My Bharat-NSS plays a vital role in the development of the personality and character of the young student volunteers. Students, our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shriman Narendra Modi Ji has set a target of being an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat by 2047. This goal is not merely a destination; it is a collective journey driven by responsible citizens. While policies, infrastructure, and technology play a vital role, the real architects of a developed India are the youth of the Nation.

In this national mission, the My Bharat-NSS stands as a powerful movement that transforms young minds into nation builders. A Viksit Bharat requires not only economic growth but social harmony, moral strength, character and values that are deeply nurtured through My Bharat activities. Students, you are not just wearing an My Bharat-NSS badge; you are wearing the trust of the nation. Your motto, “Not Me, But You,” is not just a slogan. It is a way of life. I always say this to the audience “Living for oneself is not a sin, but living only for self is a sin.” In a world that often teaches us to think of “me first,” My Bharat-NSS teaches us to think of “nation first.” I am happy to learn that the My Bharat-NSS has made significant contributions to mass literacy, environment preservation, health education and community education. My Bharat-NSS volunteers have always been at the forefront of disaster relief and rehabilitation work. By working at the grassroots, you have ensured that development reaches the last person in the queue, aligning perfectly with the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

This whole month you have spent in Delhi for the Republic Day Parade camp would have given you plenty of opportunities to enrich your personality.  I hope you would have enjoyed your stay. Students, you all have been selected for this Republic Day Camp after a rigorous selection process. This in itself is an achievement. You all also belong to different fields, science, arts, and humanities, yet you have come together for My Bharat. I urge you all Don’t stop here, Bharat needs more from you. I recall Swami Vivekanand Ji’s saying for the youth that All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. With this great thought go back to your Institutions, your States, your Union Territories. All these experiences you have gained here should light a fire within you to not stop until Maa Bharat stands tall as a leader among the global nations. There will be times when serving is uncomfortable. There will be moments when you feel tired, ignored, or unappreciated. But remember the nation always remembers those who serve silently. Remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” My Bharat-NSS gives you that opportunity. So, wear your uniform with pride. Speak with empathy. Work with sincerity and serve with humility. Let the world know that My Bharat volunteers do not wait for change they become the change. Jai Hind! Long Live Mother Bharat!
