Launch of the book “Chalice of Ambrosia Ram Janmabhoomi: Challenge and Response”

    Vice-President's Enclave |January 20, 2026

I touch and salute the holy feet of Bharat Mata – the Most Powerful and the Most Merciful.

Chairman of Construction Committee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Shri Nripendra Mishra Ji, Shri Amit Khare Ji, Former Secretary to the Government of India and Author, Shri S.K. Pachauri Ji, Shri Har Anand Ji, Har Anand Publications PVT. Limited and others.

It gives me immense pleasure to address you all on the occasion of the release of the book “Chalice of Ambrosia Ram Janma-Bhoomi: Challenge and Response” by Shri Surendra Kumar Pachauri. The book captures the centuries old struggle to build a Ram Mandir at the holy site of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Shree Ram. Writing a book on historical events is never easy. It is, in many ways, one of the most demanding forms of writing. The past does not speak in complete sentences. It also calls for  emotional balance. History is filled with moments of greatness and    periods of deep suffering.     An author of history must write      with empathy, yet       with    restraint honouring      human experience         without    sensationalism and presenting truth without distortion.

Shri Pachauri Ji, you have done a commendable job at bringing out the essence of the historic struggle of Ram Janma-Bhoomi in this book. The dreams and aspirations of millions of Indians were fulfilled in 2019 after one of the longest legal disputes in Indian History. Through the various chapters of the book, you have captured the essence of the movement of the Hindus towards the revival of the Hindu consciousness of Hindutva. The 2003 excavation by the Archaeological Survey of India has been dealt with in detail in this book.

We should remember that the excavation report and its findings played a critical role in the final Supreme Court verdict of 2019.  I am quoting from the findings of ASI mentioned in the book, “There is sufficient proof of the existence of a massive and monumental structure having a minimum dimension of 50 by 30 metres in north-south and east-west directions, respectively, just below the disputed structure.  In the course of present excavations, nearly 50 pillar bases with brick bat foundation below calcrete blocks topped by sandstone blocks were found.”  The verdict marked a turning point in Indian History. What we witnessed after the 2019 judgement was truly phenomenal!

Funds for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya were collected through a massive public crowd – funding campaign managed by the Shri Ram Janma-Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, gathering over ₹3,000 crore from devotees worldwide. I fondly remember that in the 1990’s, my mother had conducted and participated in the shila pooja of the bricks being contributed from my area. The efforts of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s leadership ensured that the revival of a sacred site became an expression of India’s mature democracy and timeless cultural confidence. I am extremely happy that Shri Nripendra Mishra Ji, who had earlier served as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister during his first term, is also present here today. Shri Mishra Ji now serving as the Chairman of the Construction Committee of the Shri Ram Janma-Bhoomi Trust, adds significance to today’s event. The opening of the Shri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya marks a defining moment in India’s civilisational journey where faith, history, law, and democracy converged with dignity.

Devotees in large numbers have since visited and sought the blessings of Shree Ram Lalla. On 25 November 2025, the entire nation witnessed a historic and deeply emotional moment when the Dhwajarohan was performed at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, under the leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. Lord Shri Ram is present everywhere! Be it in Ayodhya or Rameswaram, he is there everywhere. The faith that the people have in Lord Shree Ram knows no boundaries. We can see him in the islands of Fiji and in the temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Lord Shri Ram is the eternal symbol of dharma, showing the world, how righteousness can guide even the hardest choices.

In Prabhu Shri Ram, we see the rare greatness of power with compassion and authority with humility. His life teaches that true greatness lies not in ruling kingdoms, but in winning the hearts of the people through virtue. The greatness of Lord Shri Ram shines in his respect for all kings and commoners, sages and warriors alike. Shri Ram teaches humanity that Dharma when lived sincerely, becomes divinity. This is what we should all try to achieve in our lives be a follower of Lord Shree Ram’s ideals. I once again express my appreciation to Shri Surendra Kumar Pachauri Ji for his book on the Challenges and Responses that we encountered during the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement. I also wish the book a wide readership! Jai Shri Ram! Jai Hind! Long Live Mother Bharat!
